Progressing Lives In Las Laderas

For over 15 years, the Amoria Bond Charitable Trust has partnered with Project Peru to support community projects in Las Laderas. In that time, we’ve built over 100 homes, 3 soup kitchens, expanded a children’s refuge, and delivered hundreds of Christmas care packages.

In June 2025, 9 volunteers from across the group will travel to Las Laderas to support Project Peru's ongoing efforts. They are currently fundraising — you can find a donation link below to support their mission!

Peru 2025 Fundraiser

The Project Peru refuge provides a safe home for vulnerable children from tragic backgrounds. Entirely run by locals and volunteers, it relies solely on donations, with no government funding.

The houses we build offer essential shelter — a safe, lockable space to sleep, something many in Las Laderas don’t have.

This June, we’ll return for our sixth trip, where volunteers from Amoria Group’s global offices will help build more houses. The work is tough but rewarding, and every donation supports materials and construction.

Our Latest Volunteering Trip

In June 2022, 11 employees travelled to Peru to volunteer with the ongoing building work at a children's refuge in Las Laderas – a desert shanty town in the foothills.

Peru suffered the highest mortality rate from the COVID-19 pandemic globally, leaving even more children in desperate need. Project Peru's children's refuge houses care for and support children in the area.

Due to lack of space, children as young as. 14 were left nowhere to live, no chance of staying in school, and limited prospects in one of the world's poorest regions.

Our Charitable Trust funded construction efforts throughout the year to extend the refuge. The project provided jobs for local builders, tradespeople, teachers, and refuge staff, ensuring more children could complete their eduction and gain meaningful employment.

While most of the building work has been paid by the Amoria Group, our volunteers are 100% self-funded, having raised money for their trip through fundraising activities during the year. This was our 5th volunteer trip to the refuge since 2010.

We've built 101 houses, providing homes and security for over 500 of the most vulnerable people in the community. We also built three soup kitchens that feed hundreds of people every day. The facilities provide a safe space for vital social, health and educational facilities.

We have developed a friendship with the people of Las Laderas, and our long-term charity partners, Project Peru. We send them hundreds of care packages and essentials every Christmas.
